Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is a small, fast airport used mainly by low-cost carriers. It is convenient for the northern Costa Brava, but it is 100 kilometres from Barcelona — a detail many travellers discover only after landing.

Lloret de Mar is roughly 30 minutes away, Blanes 35 minutes, Tossa de Mar 45 minutes, Girona city 15 minutes and Barcelona about 1 hour 15 minutes. Public buses exist but run on limited schedules tied to certain flights, which is difficult with late arrivals.
Because most GRO flights land in the evening, a pre-booked private transfer is the safest choice: your driver is there whatever time the aircraft touches down.
